Has anyone had any forest school training?

I looked up forest school activities on line, grabbed clip boards, pencils, crayons and a shoe box and carted all my bunch off to a near by wood. Tld them all we were going on a magical nature walk, and anything special they found to go in the nature box was 'magic treasure'!!!

They all LOVED it! And still talk about it now, they are only aged 2,3,4!

I went on some forest school training it was great came back with lots of ideas. Our nursery is next to a park so i went with a group of 3 and 4 year olds. We looked at trees and made things out of things we found in the park.

It is something that really interests me.

I went to a very interesting talk on risky play at the Manchester Early Years Exhibition earlier this year which links in well with Forest Schooling.

I'm still not 100% convinced how it all fits in with childminding, caring for babies at the same time etc but I can see benefits of some of the ideas.

I would love to do more training on it!
