Default Not happy and can't find anything out!

I started my diploma in 2010 and finished Dec 2011, there is absolutely no way could we have finished in six months we had 21 very meaty assignments to write and lots of research, I don't understand why some people are achieving the same qualification by doing a lot less!!

To add to insult, there is now the extended diploma that carries UCAS points, another few months and I could have had this instead!!!

I have been told that it's possible to do extra units to gain the extended diploma, but seen as though a grade is given for the extended version I don't see how this is going to work.

Also it appears that CACHE are the only ones to offer an extended version and I did my diploma via City & Guilds, surely I can't half and half.

The whole restructure of qualifications has been a farce if you ask me!

i have several students who went to uni this year with the straight diploma and no other qualifications apart from english and maths, the extension is pointless.

it infuriates me when i see people doing it in 6 months but dont worry employers know that time is the key to learning i wouldnt employ anyone who rushes to learn.

if you want to go to uni just apply the diploma will get you there.

I liken enrolement processes to that of visiting the doctor, where, although you've been actively engaged & supported in trusting the professionals in front of you the unnerving situation of organsising a second opinion might well be prudent. If the 'completed in 6 month' threads have been read I'd hope you've also managed to read the controversy over how differing course providers operate, the event that claims to be withdrawal of funding and the issues involved with locations and personal difficulties in accessing glh in more rural areas.

As recommended contact the universities you'd wish to link points to and see what plan of action they suggest and maybe enquire what they would of suggested you do prior to the onset of your Lv3 enrolement.

Best wishes, let us know how you get on

I don't think it's to do with how quickly you complete it, as some people have more time to complete than others. For example, I have 5 hours a day during work time, up to 3 hours after work and the whole weekend to do my work so I expect to complete it quite quickly. And I can also type very fast which helps too. I find it offensive that you think that if someone can complete it in less time than you that they shouldn't gain the same qualification. I think there's more to it than you think.
