I've just had this signed off and for the first question i wrote this:
An explanation of how levels of speech and language development vary between children entering early years provision and need to be taken into account during settling in and planning.
All children are individual and will learn at different rates. While some children will enter early years settings with good speech and language skills, some may struggle. This could be due to an underlying speech and language need or it could just be that the child is developing at a different rate. It is important to keep in close contact with the parents to properly understand the child’s needs and whether or not they will need support. When it comes to settling the child into the setting, it is important that the child is able to bond with their key person, as this can help them gain confidence and reach their full potential. Some children will find it difficult to settle in and they will need a key person there to support them, as well as be patient with them. You should also consider the tone and pitch of your voice when speaking with the child, as well as adapting your language to suit their needs. When it comes to planning activities, you must make sure that they are adapted to suit the needs of each individual child.
Hope that helps :) x
