Hi

Email:
good or positive = it's inexpensive, paperless so few physical resources needed, distributed quickly, keeps parents uptodate and provides an effective two-way means of contact.
bad or negative = email requires an appropriate internet connection, there's a need to keep ontop of email address changes, a designated person needs to collect information, format & send emails, data protection means the saving & storing of individual's email details needs to be organised so that it, or the policy & procedures that guide the way things happen, complies with law.

Consider how email communications happen in your setting and note what's involved, what's good & bad eg. do emails reach everyone, are they sent out regularly, do they contain information that's relevant, are personal details kept securely ..

Hth xx
