HI I am currently working on What is the importance of promoting children’s assertiveness, Self-confidence and self- esteem to enable children to protect themselves. it seems easy enough but I don't know where to start??? Help please.

For children to feel safe and protected they need to feel good about themselves. self esteem can be helped by giving lots of praise and encouragement, encouraging independence, make sure they have opportunities to try new things. teaching children how to be assertive but still respecting others. encourage cooperation, respect and tolerance between children, be a good role model. trust is important for a child, if they trust you they are more likely to talk to you about any concerns they may have. Simple age appropriate activities on how the human body works can help children to understand what their bodies do and raise awareness of what is normal and what is not. have a look at the keepsafe code WWW.kidscape.org.uk. hope this helps:
